GWM's Record August Sales Underscore Momentum for High-Quality Growth
On September 1, 2025, Great Wall Motor Company Limited (GWM) announced its August sales results. The company sold 115,558 new vehicles in August, up 22.33% year-on-year, marking its best-ever August performance. Sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 37,495 units, up 50.92%; sales of models priced above RMB 200,000 totaled 31,631 units, up 50.57%; overseas sales hit 45,166 units, up 11.65% year-on-year and setting a new record high. From January to August 2025, GWM sold 789,719 new vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 5.94%.The potential for high-quality growth is now being unleashed in full.
In August, GWM accelerated new product launches, further elevating market performance with intelligent upgrades, while also advancing brand value with the commissioning of its Brazil plant—demonstrating its commitment to high-quality development.
Accelerating Ecosystem Globalization and Deepening Latin America Market
In August, GWM further advanced its globalization strategy with the official commissioning of its Brazil plant. The ceremony was attended by Brazilian President Lula, Vice President Alckmin, and GWM executives including President Mu Feng, GWM International President Parker Shi. This milestone is expected to strongly support GWM’s long-term growth in Brazil and across Latin America. A Latin America Dealers Summit was also successfully held, gathering nearly 100 core dealer partners from Mexico, Argentina, Chile, Colombia, and beyond.
Meanwhile, key products are accelerating their global rollout. In August, the HAVAL H6 Hi4 was launched in Pakistan, and the HAVAL H7 entered the Australian market, where GWM also celebrated the milestone of 200,000 cumulative sales. In Australia, over the past 16 years, GWM has achieved leapfrog growth through an expanded product lineup, a strengthened dealer network, and premium customer service, securing its position as the seventh best-selling automotive brand in the country.
Six Product Series Gather at Chengdu Motor Show
On August 29, GWM brought its Six Core Product Lines—HAVAL, WEY New Energy, TANK, ORA, GWM POER, and SOUO Motorcycles—to the 2025 Chengdu Motor Show. Over 30 major models were unveiled, including the all-new TANK 500, HAVAL DARGO PLUS, and the V6 POER. Beyond product launches, GWM created a festival-like event to strengthen user connections.
To deliver high-quality products and strong value, GWM has established a stringent quality management system, including advanced laboratories such as Asia’s largest independent safety test lab with multi-angle crash testing capabilities. In August, during the 35th Anniversary Open Day, numerous media outlets visited GWM’s facilities to experience its full industry chain and quality control system firsthand.
On August 27, at the GWM Hi4 Tribute to Dujiangyan & All-New TANK 500 Launch Event, Chairman Jack Wey explained that the inspiration for Hi4’s power-splitting technology comes from the ancient Dujiangyan irrigation system, elaborating on the engineering philosophy and innovative value of Hi4. He emphasized that Hi4 will democratize advanced 4WD technology and deliver value for users worldwide. Hi4-equipped models including the HAVAL H6, WEY G9, and TANK 300/500/700 have already entered markets such as Australia, Pakistan, South Africa, Malaysia, Thailand, Brazil, and Kazakhstan, with more to follow.
