ORA 5 Named Best Interior Design in the Family Car Category, While TANK 300 Receives Best Technological Innovation Award in the Premium Car Category

Turin, Italy, September 11, 2026 — GWM has earned two major honors at the 2026 Torino Automotive Design Award (TADA), a design award established by Salone Auto Torino to recognize outstanding achievements in automotive design and innovation. Among 87 models from 46 brands evaluated by a jury comprising representatives from ten leading Italian automotive publications, the GWM ORA 5 received the Best Interior Design Award in the Family Car category, while the GWM TANK 300 secured the Best Technological Innovation Award in the Premium Car category.

The awards were presented during the 2026 Salone Auto Torino, highlighting GWM’s growing recognition in Europe for both design and technology.

European Recognition for Design and Innovation

Established in 2025, TADA evaluates vehicles from Chinese automotive brands present in or entering the European market. The 2026 edition assessed 87 models across three categories—City Car, Family Car and Premium Car—covering exterior design, interior design and technological innovation.

TANK 300: Bringing Advanced Hybrid Technology to Off-Roading

The TANK 300 received the Best Technological Innovation Award in the Premium Car category for its advanced Hi4-T hybrid technology, which combines electrification with authentic off-road capability.

Developed specifically for off-road applications, Hi4-T integrates a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, a high-performance electric motor and a hybrid transmission within a non-decoupled four-wheel-drive architecture. The system delivers strong performance while retaining the efficiency advantages of a plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Unlike many electrified off-road vehicles, the Hi4-T architecture enables direct mechanical drive from the combustion engine to the wheels, ensuring dependable capability even in demanding terrain and low-battery conditions. Combined with a ladder-frame chassis, a two-speed transfer case, differential locks and multiple terrain modes, the TANK 300 demonstrates GWM’s approach to blending advanced technology with real-world capability.
