GWM Overseas Sales Surge 19.40% in September

GWM News 2026-10-14

On October 1, 2026, GWM released September sales: 114,944 new vehicles, up 1.37% MoM. Overseas sales surged 19.40% YoY, while NEV sales rose 3.15% MoM. As multiple regional markets advance together, GWM’s global layout is becoming more balanced, with stronger synergies across powertrains and regions.

All-Powertrain Strategy Fits Diverse Markets

GWM’s globalization is built on an all-powertrain architecture that covers different energy structures and driving habits. Its platform supports ICE, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, BEV and hydrogen, achieving “one architecture, all-power compatibility.” This allows rapid adaptation in multi-energy markets such as the Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Australia, rather than a one-size-fits-all electric approach.

Take its diesel technology as an example: GWM’s investment in this area is becoming a differentiating advantage overseas. Its new 3.0T inline-four diesel engine delivers 620 N·m peak torque, paired with a self-developed 9-speed automatic transmission and 4WD, entering the high-end pickup segment long dominated by Japanese and American brands in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa.

Meanwhile, the ORA 5, embodying the “one car, multiple powertrains” concept, is now being launched globally. By adapting one model to different energy structures and driving habits, it brings GWM’s all-powertrain strategy to life and further strengthens its fit across diverse markets.

Regionally, GWM advances high-potential markets like Europe while deepening base markets in Southeast Asia, South America and Africa. It does not rely on a single region’s surge; instead, it builds product fit and channel capability market by market with an “in the local, for the local” approach. This multi-region, multi-powertrain, multi-category push makes global growth more sustainable.

Safety, Design, Experience, Service: Fully Engaging Global Customers

Since September, GWM has focused on safety, design, experience and service to get closer to global customers and make product and brand trust more concrete.

On safety, in September, GWM’s Safety Laboratory completed its 4,000th full-vehicle crash test, with global strategic model HAVAL H7 selected for the milestone. More than a routine validation, it reflects GWM’s long-term safety investment and determination to build products to global standards. For GWM, safety is not a marketing gimmick but a ticket to global competition.

On design, GWM showcased its six product lineups at the 2026 Turin Auto Show, which opened on September 11. ORA 5 won the TADA Best Interior Design Award in the Family Car category; TANK 300 Hi4-T won the TADA Best Technological Innovation Award in the Premium Car category for its Hi4-T architecture. Chinese brands are moving from product exports to international recognition for design and technology.

On customer experience, GWM combined hands-on events with new model launches in South Africa and Chile. In South Africa, a TANK customer experience event in Cape Town featured gravel slalom, a 4x4 off-road skills course and an off-road adventure challenge. From September 16 to 18, GWM TANK 500 and GWM P500 3.0 Diesel were launched in South Africa, with media and customers experiencing power, features and quietness on urban and unpaved roads. In Chile, from September 15 to 16, HAVAL H7 Max held a launch event and media test drive, generating strong interest.

On service, from September 14 to 18, GWM held its first offline after-sales technical training for the CIS region in Kazakhstan, introducing a university-industry partnership model. As overseas markets grow rapidly and new models approach launch, GWM is building worry-free service competitiveness in advance, giving customers confidence.

Next, GWM will continue to align with regional energy structures and customer needs, deepen its balanced global layout and provide multi-scenario mobility solutions. As more global strategic models launch, this experience- and scenario-based advantage will continue to turn into trust in global markets.
