GWM has passed the ISO 26262 functional safety management certification of TÜV Rheinland

On September 22, Technischer überwachungs-Verein Rheinland (hereinafter referred to as "TÜV Rheinland"), an international independent third-party testing, inspection and certification institution, issued the ASIL D certificate of ISO 26262 functional safety management to Great Wall Motors(GWM) at Baoding HAVAL Technology Center.

On September 22, Technischer überwachungs-Verein Rheinland (hereinafter referred to as "TÜV Rheinland"), an international independent third-party testing, inspection and certification institution, issued the ASIL D certificate of ISO 26262 functional safety management to Great Wall Motors(GWM) at Baoding HAVAL Technology Center. This means that GWM has passed the practical certification of functional safety management system.

The certification awarding ceremony was attended by Geng Weifeng, Deputy General Manager of GWM Technology Center, Peng Shuangyin, Head of Vehicle Function Integration Department, Wang Yuchuan, Head of Vehicle Function Test Department, Zhao Bin, Functional Safety Expert and Greater China General Manager of TÜV Rheinland Industrial Service and Information Security, and Xiao Xiaoran, Sales Manager of TÜV Rheinland Industrial Service and Information Security.

ISO 26262 is a global standard formulated by the International Organization for Standardization. TÜV Rheinland is a leader in the field of vehicle testing and certification. It participated in the formulation of ISO 26262 as a member of the Editorial Board. TÜV Rheinland is also one of the first international third-party certification bodies to carry out functional safety business in China. At present, more than 70% of the vehicle functional safety management system certifications in the Chinese market are issued by TÜV Rheinland. Over the years, GWM has carried out in-depth cooperation with TÜV Rheinland in many fields, based on TÜV Rheinland's rigorous pursuit of technology and rapid response to new technologies, new standards, and new trends, and has facilitated its rapid development.

Passing the ISO 26262 functional safety process system vehicle practice level certification fully demonstrates the strong strength of GWM in safety development and management, representing a key milestone for GWM in its globalization process. The result of this certification not only represents that GWM can establish a complete product development process system that meets the highest level of functional safety (ASIL D) in accordance with international standards, but also reflects TÜV Rheinland's full recognition of the effect of GWM in actual project operation so as to prepare for entering the EU market. Meanwhile, GWM takes this opportunity to make continuous efforts in product safety to lay a solid foundation for realizing globalization.

At the awarding site, Geng Weifeng said: "Safety is a key factor for the development of future automobile products towards intelligence. GWM has also been committed to the safety and reliability of products, and considers the vehicle safety as the top priority in the production and R & D field to align with the international standards." In addition, he expressed his gratitude to TÜV Rheinland for providing support for the work of GWM, and hoped that both parties will jointly fulfill the mission to fully ensure safety in the future.

At the ceremony, Zhao Bin congratulated GWM on successfully establishing a functional safety management system for the complete vehicle and reaching the highest level of ASIL D. Later, he pointed out that GMW's achievement today is the result of staff's hard work and their spirit of accomplishing goals ahead of schedule. TÜV Rheinland has cooperated with GWM for more than ten years, from the initial IATF16949 to functional security and information security, and he sincerely hopes that TÜV Rheinland will continue to escort the safety projects of GWM in the future.
