The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has recently released the latest production and sales data.
The China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) has recently released the latest production and sales data. In March, as the traditional peak season of vehicle production and sales, the Chinese auto market registered a record output of 2.2017 million units and record sales of 2.1691 million units. GWM sold 68,000 units in March and 187,800 units in the first quarter, remaining ahead of other Chinese independent brands and ranking 8th in China's auto industry. In the increasingly competitive Chinese auto market, GWM has been conducting steady operations and gaining market recognition by its ever-growing product power.
Of all GWM's series, SUVs remained most prominent. In March, GWM sold 42,300 SUV units, continuing the lead in the SUV segment. The sales champion Great Wall H6 achieved sales of over 25,000 units for the first time and fell short of demand in the terminal market. The ever-growing sales once again show that H6 has been favored by consumers for its trendy and dynamic appearance and superb cost performance. With the release of H6's production capacity and the increase in its sales proportion, H6's sales and profit contributions are expected to further increase.
According to experts' analysis, apart from star models such as Great Wall H6 and Great Wall M4 which will continue booming in 2014, new models to be launched successively may be new contributors to GWM's sales increase.
