GWM listed among 2014 Hurun Brand List
Hurun Research Institute has recently released 2014 Hurun Brand List. GWM ranked 55th on the list of 2014 Most Valuable Chinese Brands of Hurun Research Institute with a brand value of 11.5 billion yuan, 13 places up from last year, topping the list of automakers listed. Additionally, GWM sat 17th on the list of 2014 Most Valuable Private Brands of Hurun Research Institute ahead of other private automakers listed.
Hurun Research Institute has recently released 2014 Hurun Brand List. GWM ranked 55th on the list of 2014 Most Valuable Chinese Brands of Hurun Research Institute with a brand value of 11.5 billion yuan, 13 places up from last year, topping the list of automakers listed.
Additionally, GWM sat 17th on the list of 2014 Most Valuable Private Brands of Hurun Research Institute ahead of other private automakers listed.According to data, Hurun Brand List released 200 brands this year, with a total value of 3.1742 trillion yuan, up 13 percent from last year. Tencent was crowned the "Most Valuable Chinese Brand" for the first time with a brand value of 208 billion yuan. Private brands had strong performance with their average value up 74 percent from last year compared to a drop of 9 percent in the average value of state-owned brands. Automakers including GWM and Dongfeng made the list, and the former was listed for the third consecutive year.
According to sources, Hurun Brand List is China's only one of its kind that takes consumers' views of brands into account and quantifies them as value; furthermore, all evaluated brands are Chinese brands. The institute conducts a comprehensive evaluation of brand value based on related economic data and results of consumer surveys. Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman and chief researcher of Hurun Report, said, "Private brands far outperform state-owned brands in innovation. On this year's list, the average value of the private brands was up nearly 80 percent, while the average value of the state-owned brands was down 10 percent apart from an increase of 50 percent in tobacco enterprises'."
