The 10^th Santiago International Auto Show was held on October 26, 2008 in Santiago, Chile. Derco S.A., the exclusive distributor of Great Wall Motor in Chile, made well preparation in advance and attended this show in its unprecedented scale.

The Santiago International Auto Show is held every two years. Nearly 50 brands attended the show this year, including various world well-known brands. The Great Wall Motor booth is the largest one among all the China’s auto exhibitors, covering an area of 800 square meters. Eight GW models, such as Gwperi, Cowry, GWFLORID, Coolbear, Hover, Wingle and so on were exhibited. Thanks to its two big advantages, i.e. the first Chinese brand in Chile as well as the refined design, GWM booth attracted a lot of visitors. One of the most reputable local newspaper commented GWM booth as the most excellent one along with that of Kia in this auto show.

After one and half year’s development, the image and sales of Great Wall Motor achieved great improvement in Chile. Its market share increased from 0.8% (2007) to 1.5%, even more than Subaru, Volkswagen, Renault and Fiat, ranked No. 13 out of the 45 brands. From the specific segment, GW SUV takes the third place in the local SUV market, only behind the Hyundai and Suzuki. Pickup also catches more market share in the same line.
