Great Wall Motors’ Australian Distributor, Ateco Automotive Pty Ltd, is celebrating breaking three sales records in one month.

Sales to Ateco’s steadily expanding national network of 60 dealers was the first record smashed with 1010 vehicles wholesaled in July. This was up from a previous high of 713 achieved earlier in the year.

SalesThis record came partly through dealer network expansion and continued strong customer interest in Great Wall’s Australian product line-up, but the decisive factor in setting such a high wholesale figure was the introduction of the new Wingle (or V240 as it is known in Australia) single cab pick-up. Previously only dual cab Wingles had been offered in Australia.

This keenly priced, well equipped and highly versatile vehicle has had an immediate and positive impact on both wholesale and retail figures. The latter is borne out by a new monthly retail sales record of 584.

There is a strong sense of optimism both within Ateco and its Great Wall dealer network that further sales records will be achieved despite operating in a tight and very competitive market. This positive outlook is amply demonstrated by yet another record, this time retail customer orders taken by Great Wall dealers in the final week of July that totalled 179 cars, up from the previous record of 163.

Many challenges remain to be faced in the Australian market, and success is never easy or assured, but Great Wall’s continuous product improvement combined with Ateco’s strong focus on marketing and dealer development is a formula for high achievement.
