Recently, there was another hot event on the export of Chinese automobiles. Great Wall Motors won a big order for 2,000 automobiles from Italy, and all vehicles ordered are Wingle Pickup. Among which, the first batch of 343 units of Diesel Wingle Pickup has been successfully shipped at Tianjin Port. The remaining vehicles will be shipped in several batches by November this year.

Great Wall Motors is the first Chinese automobile brand not only to won WVTA certification of EU but also acquire the official sales right. The Wingle 5 exported to Italy of this order is the only Pickup model that has passed the EU WVTA certification in China by virtue of the 2.0VGT Diesel Engine researched and developed independently by Great Wall Motors, featuring electronically controlled high pressure common rail and a variable geometry exhaust-driven turbo charger to meet the EURO V emission standards.

This is another big order from EU market following the one of exporting 2,001 units of Harvard H5 in batches to Italy last year, and is also another large-scale export of Wingle Pickup following the tender order from SONELGAZ of Algeria. Comparing with previous orders, unusual historic significance to Chinese pickup industry could be found in this order . Prior to this order, only gasoline pickups has been exported to EU market from China, while, in this order, besides 300 units of gasoline pickups, all of the remaining 1700 units are diesel pickups., this will be known as the first time in history that Chinese diesel pickup entering EU market and also the sign that Great Wall penetrating into high-end diesel pickup market of EU.
