From October 26 to 28, the 6th China International Auto Parts Expo (CIAPE) took place at the China International Exhibition Center in Beijing. GWM appeared with a strong line-up of seven models, including three vehicles, one Haval Dakar racer, and three engines. The showcase took up an exhibition area of 200m2.

Building core power

In terms of core power, three 1.0L-1.5L small-displacement engines were shown. They enjoy several advantages, such as “high efficiency and energy conservation, green and environmental protection, silence and comfort". They also feature world class technology; including turbochargers, direct gasoline injection, and dual VVT. These engines demonstrated the use of core technologies by Chinese brands.

Using exhaust turbocharger technology, the GW4G15B (1.5L all-aluminum gasoline engine) is a next-generation, energy-efficient, environment-friendly, silent, and comfortable passenger vehicle engine. It was independently developed by GWM. The engine uses advanced technology, including all aluminum, VVT, plastic cylinder head covers, a double overhead camshaft, and a chain transmission timing system. It features a maximum power output of 110kW/5,600rpm, and a peak torque of 210Nm /2,200-4,500rpm.

The GW4B13 (1.3L direct-injection turbocharged gasoline engine) is an in-line, four-cylinder, direct-injection turbocharged diesel (gasoline)engine. It features world class technology, including direct gasoline injection, an exhaust turbocharger, dual VVT, a double-thermostat-controlled cooling system, variable-displacement oil pump, and silent chain timing system. The (This) engine will be fitted in future Great Wall cars.

The GW3G10T (1.0L all-aluminum gasoline engine) is an all-aluminum gasoline engine developed by GWM. It features advanced technology, including an exhaust turbocharger, all aluminum, VVT, plastic cylinder head covers, a double overhead camshaft, and chain transmission timing system. It also goes beyond the Euro V standard. It is a small-displacement, high-performance, energy-efficient, and environmentally-friendly engine.

Three key models launched in parallel

Since its launch, the Haval H6 has drawn close attention. It has also sold very well and demand has exceeded supply. This past September, the Haval H6 registered monthly sales of 15,068 units outperforming two hot sellers -the CR-V and Tiguan - to the top China's SUV list.

The popularity of the Haval H4 has soared despite the fact that there has been only five months since its launch. The Haval H4 registered monthly sales of 7,329 units in September, ranking in the top 10 in the SUV segment. This has showed its momentum of the mini SUV benchmark. Small-displacement vehicles have progressively become a consensus amongst buyers, and small-displacement SUV will be favored by young people due to their environmental and low-emission effects, as well as their low-cost advantages.

Great Wall C50 is GWM’s first T family car. Its 1.5T turbocharger system is supplied by the world-famous turbo supplier MHI. With its reliable performance, it can run up to 300,000 kilometers. The 1.5T engine, with a light design - including an aluminum cylinder block and head - uses advanced technology. This includes multi-point fuel injection, double overhead camshaft, combined pressure and splashing lubrication, and intake inter-cooling. All of these features help to enhance combustion, decrease emission pollutants, improve fuel economy by20 percent, and reduce carbon dioxide by15 percent.

Dakar racer

At the exhibition, GWM also exhibited its Dakar racer and Dakar interactive game player. Through close-range contact with the Dakar racer model, and the operation of Dakar interactive game player, every car fan that was crazy about Great Wall vehicles and the Dakar Rally could personally experience the great event. The fighting spirit and national glory - displayed by the GWM Haval team representing China - was also easy to see.

Dakar has always been valued as a quality test platform by automakers. Only high-skilled and professional racing teams can achieve great results during this race. The GWM Haval team recently made a triple jump from 33rd, to 22nd, to 6th place. This marked a historic breakthrough for the globalization of Chinese auto brands.
