GWM shows at Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao International Auto Show with 12-model lineup starring Haval

The 17th Shenzhen-Hong Kong-Macao International Auto Show opened on June 8. Under the theme of "focus, dedication, specialization", GWM showed up at Hall 1's Booth 09 measuring nearly 1,000 square meters, with a strong lineup of 12 models, of which models, Haval H8 made its debut. GWM set up a Dakar zone and a fine Haval model zone to demonstrate Haval's brand culture.
Among the 12 exhibits, there are eight hot sellers in China: Haval H6, Haval H5, Haval M4 and Haval M2; Great Wall C50, Great Wall C30, Great Wall V80 and Wingle 5; two new models about to be launched in China: Haval H8 and Haval H6 Upgrade; as well as a branded model: HAVAL Dakar Racecar.
Haval H8 makes its debut in Shenzhen
At the exhibition, GWM exhibited 7 Haval models. Haval H8 in its debut as well as the Dakar zone and the fine Haval model zone stole the show.
To display Haval's brand culture, GWM set up the Dakar zone and the fine Haval model zone at the exhibition, putting on display star models like HAVAL Dakar Racecar, Haval H6, Haval H6 Upgrade, Great Wall H5, Haval M4 and Haval M2.
According to sources, Haval has kept the sales title in China for ten consecutive years, HAVAL Dakar Team performed strongly and finished 6th overall in the 2013 Dakar Rally, equaling the best of Chinese teams in the race.
Win by mode, GWM yields bumper fruits
In recent years, GWM has stood out amid the slump of the auto market to yield bumper fruits in business performance and sales.
In 2012, GWM achieved operating revenues of 43.2 billion yuan, up 43 percent; a total profit of 6.8 billion yuan, up 66 percent; a profit-sales ratio of 16 percent and an EPS of 1.87 percent, 53 percent year on year. By late 2012, GWM's assets had totaled 42.6 billion yuan. GWM has been acknowledged by the international capital market and favored by international investors. In 2012, GWM sold 620,000 units, up 28 percent year on year, ranking 8th among automakers. In the first five months of 2013, GWM sold 310,000 units, up 34 percent year on year, showing strong momentum. 155,000 Haval SUVs were sold, up 79 percent year on year.
According to industry analysts, GWM’s sales growth amid the market slump was attributable to its mode. GWM has chosen a suitable strategic mode and resisted temptations in the long term. The incorruptible system and team, the focus strategy, vertical integration and excessive research investment are all recipes for GWM's success by mode.
GWM’s outstanding business performance has been acknowledged by authorities and media. In 2012, GWM was listed among “2011 China’s Top 100 Listed Companies” by China Business Time and “China’s 100 Most Valuable Brands” by 2012 Hurun Brand List. Also, GWM made the list of “China’s Top 10 Consumer Brands” by Barron’s as the only auto brand. In April 2013, Forbes released the list of Top 1000 Enterprises. Among Chinese automakers, only SAIC, Dongfeng and GWM made the list.
Technology, the only way for developing independent automakers
On May 31, the 3rd Great Wall Science & Technology Festival took place at Xushui production base. After the two previous editions, GWM interpreted the power of "focus" with outstanding technological achievements once again.
Under the theme of "Science & Technology • Great Wall", the 3rd edition has grown substantially in scale compared to the previous two editions, showcasing GWM's research findings in recent years and putting on display up to over 300 exhibits, covering 14 sectors such as powertrain, new energy, materials, electric appliances, chassis, vehicle properties, interior and exterior, equipment, production, process, sale and exhibits. Every sector has highlights.
