On March 20, the Ministry of Education of PRC and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine of PRC (AQSIQ) held the on-the-spot meeting on the construction of national social practice base on quality education of middle and primary schools at Shenzhen, and awarded the title of “National Social Practice Base on Quality Education of Middle and Primary Schools” to the first 16 organizations. Great Wall Motors, as the sole enterprise selected in Hebei Province, won such award.

In 2011, the Ministry of Education and AQSIQ jointly issued Notification on Building National Social Practice Base on Quality Education of Middle and Primary Schools, and built up an expert panel to carry out documents review and o-situ assessment on enterprises and testing organizations recommended by provincial quality supervision administrations and education departments. Eventually 16 honorable organizations were selected, among which, four automobile enterprises, including Great Wall Motors and FAW, were listed.

The education practice bases aim at making full use of social resources to carry out the social practice mechanism for middle and primary schools, popularizing the quality safety knowledge and recognizing the significance of quality innovation through the specific links of product production, management and quality inspection. Great Wall Motors strived for the qualification for the education practice base for the purpose of passing on professional quality knowledge to students in middle and primary schools, training their quality safety awareness, and building up the high-quality image of Great Wall Motors.

Recently, Great Wall Motors has signed cooperation agreements with Agricultural University of Hebei and Baoding Vocational and Technical College. Every year, more than 1,000 students come to the company for visiting, probation and exercitation. The campaign of “integrating learning with work, substituted post exercitation” launched by Great Wall Motors is highly appreciated by college students. Drawing experience accumulated through cooperation with universities, Great Wall Motors will rapidly improve the middle and primary school quality education, lay a solid foundation of infrastructure and provide excellent and safe teaching venues for students. In addition, through on-site teaching and learning experience, Great Wall Motors will assign quality education commissioners to help middle and primary school students build up correct quality consciousness.

It is said that the Ministry of Education and AQSIQ will take more effort and try to spend about three years establishing 200 national social practice bases on quality education of middle and primary schools, 500 provincial ones and 3,000 municipal ones.
